Score the evidence, context, and signal pathway
Apply AASM Scoring Manual Version 3 reasoning across original PSG teaching schematics: stage five 30-second epochs, compare consecutive epochs, place candidate respiratory reductions across display boundaries, complete a scored 12-epoch mini-study with full-montage context stops, prove respiratory-event classifications on the tracing, work through arousal/movement/artifact/boundary decisions, then complete the seven-station review and ten-question D3 checkpoint.
Scoring progress
Stage five 30-second schematic epochs
Classify W, N1, N2, N3, and R from the complete displayed channel set using the adult Version 3 staging framework. The teaching sequence progresses in a fixed order: Wake → N1 → N2 → N3 → R. Each epoch is shown without its stage label until you answer. Score 80% or higher to satisfy the staging-skill requirement.
Stage short runs without losing neighboring context
Each run keeps three full 30-second schematic epochs together. On a desktop computer, the three neighboring epoch cards appear side by side; smaller screens stack them for readability. Swipe or drag left/right inside any tracing to move through the epoch; all three neighboring traces stay synchronized so you are comparing the same time position. Stage one epoch at a time while the neighboring traces remain available for context. Apply Version 3 criteria to the current epoch; a neighboring stage is context, not a substitute for the evidence in the epoch being scored. First answers count, and 80% or higher records a Phase 3 practice pass. The sequence order is pedagogic and does not imply that every patient must progress through stages in a fixed pattern.
Drag a bar from physiologic onset through recovery
Each case shows one continuous 90-second respiratory strip divided visually into three 30-second epochs. Choose the nasal-pressure or thermistor row and drag across every distinct candidate airflow reduction you identify. This skill tests onset, continuity, recovery, and placement—not whether each generic reduction independently satisfies all Version 3 apnea or hypopnea criteria. If there are two reductions, place two bars; if there are three, place three. A vertical epoch divider organizes the display; it does not turn one continuous physiologic reduction into two. Seven of the eight first-pass annotations are required for an 80% Phase 3 practice pass.
Score a sequence, then stop when the full montage changes the question
Work through 12 consecutive 30-second schematic PSG epochs while the previous and next epochs remain visible. After selected epochs, three full-montage context stops interrupt the stage sequence so you must apply Version 3 reasoning to an N2 arousal, a longer periodic-limb-movement series, and an adult obstructive apnea that remains continuous across a 30-second epoch boundary. First answers count; corrections are required before progression; 12 of 15 first-pass decisions is exactly 80%.
Classify the respiratory event, then prove the score on the tracing
For each original 2-minute 30-second teaching trace, apply the adult AASM Version 3 respiratory framework and commit the event classification first. Then click two waveform findings that support the intended score. The cases require the appropriate relationship among the recommended airflow signal, duration, respiratory effort, oxygen or arousal consequence, and event subtype. A wrong evidence click stays on the same target and keeps the hint visible. “Show me” highlights the target but does not auto-complete it.
Decide what counts — and what does not
Work through dedicated Version 3-based arousal, limb-movement, artifact-versus-physiology, and transition/boundary cases. Commit the scoring decision first, then identify both findings that support that decision. Longer movement and boundary cases preserve enough surrounding time to judge association rather than reading an isolated burst. Atlas references support visual realism only; the scoring decision comes from current AASM rules.
Move from recognition to complete scoring context
Work through one station at a time. The app records each station when you finish its walk-through and continue, so there is no separate checklist to manage. Completed stations stay available for review. Rule-sensitive decisions should be checked against AASM Scoring Manual Version 3, and age- or protocol-specific distinctions should be used only when supported by the validated study material and applicable current official guidance.
